Today is a lot like yesterday except that Brent went
to work this time, and James went over to Jaden’s (because Jaden called on him)
and they are now swimming in his new swimming pool.
Brent, James and I are leaving here with my stuff by
around 3:45 pm so that they can drop me off at my new hotel, the Holiday Inn
Express. I expect that this hotel will
be just as nice as Homewood Suites except that I won’t have a suite with a
kitchen, but the room will be a king-bed room like before. I’ve stayed at the Holiday Inn Express before
– up in Sault Ste. Marie last year – and it came with all the amenities that
Homewood Suites offered me this year:
free Internet access, free breakfast, non-smoking room, and, hopefully,
on-site laundry facilities. I have to do
my laundry once a week for sure. The
great thing about this hotel is that it’s close to the Scarborough Town Centre
and I have some errands to do this coming week:
see my chiropractor, Jason, on August 9th, and my
hairdresser, Jackie, on August 11th for a haircut and pedicure. I also have to find a travel agent, which I
should be able to do fairly easily in this neighbourhood. I will also have to pay off the lone bill I
have left – my RBC overdraft – so I called RBC today and promised that I would
pay off the whole amount on Saturday.
I also let RBC and Manulife (my life insurance
provider) know my address change so that their customer record for me is up to
date.
I finished the day by listening to some more
chapters in my audio book. At this
moment, I am now up to Chapter 20. I
hope to listen to some more this week.
The Rio 2016
Olympic Games start tonight with the Opening Ceremonies, which will be
televised on TSN from Rio’s Maracana Stadium.
It’s supposed to start at 6:30 pm EST.
I am looking forward to seeing it at my new hotel tonight.
Well, I guess that’s all for now. I will add something in if I think of
anything else.
