Today is a relatively lazy day, as, I don’t have
anywhere to go. I had breakfast and then
I did some laundry at the hotel (thank God they have laundry facilities
here). After that, I tried watching a
DVD movie or two, but the DVD drive on my computer was suddenly being
uncooperative and so I ended up watching a Netflix show. It’s a TV show that you can watch online
called “House of Cards”. I think that
someone (Kathy?) said that it was a good show, but it was really the only show
I was able to watch today.
I opened my mail that I’d picked up yesterday from
the house. Bell Canada seems to want
their Internet equipment back since, apparently, they cancelled my
services. But, I am planning to pay them
next week and thus, keep the equipment as they told me I should. Other than that, I did some writing
(something I’ve been doing all week) and, around 4:30 pm, ordered in a pizza
from Pizza Nova. Yesterday, I’d ordered
in a lasagna, also from Pizza Nova.
There is no dinner available at the hotel on weekends (Friday to
Sunday), so I have to look after my own dinner.
Tomorrow morning around 11:00 am, Brent is picking
me up to go to his place so that I can babysit James all week. It was a relaxing week there last time I did
this – in the first week of July. I
wonder if I’ll feel differently now that my house is not mine anymore. I just hope the new owners like it as much as
I’ve liked it. At least I have lots of
pictures of the house, the neighbourhood, and the dog to look at in case I miss
them. Life is going to be a lot simpler
from now on. I won’t have anyone to
worry about other than Brent and James and, sometimes Dave. I’ll make sure that they all get their money
from me and that everyone’s happy.
I forgot to mention that I thought I’d lost my cell
phone at the house while cleaning up on Friday, but when I went to look for it,
I couldn’t find it. As it turns out,
Kyle scooped it up along with some other stuff that was his on the chair
outside and didn’t realize he had my phone until he was halfway up to
Barrie. So, I’ve had to live without a
cell phone for now (till Tuesday).
However, that’s okay – I used Dave’s phone to phone the lawyer’s office
and then, when I got back home to the hotel, I used the phone in my room.
Last thing I did today was to pay a couple of
utility bills online (because they weren’t too costly) and then updated my
spreadsheet for “Total Debts Outstanding” so that it would reflect the amounts
I owe, as accurate as I can make them, and whether I’ve paid them or not. When everything is paid off, then I am as
free as a bird! So, next week, I can
start paying everything and everybody off and be done with it once and for all.
Well, that’s all for now. If I think of anything else, I’ll add it in.
