Today, I am going to the real estate lawyer’s office
in downtown Oshawa to sign the closing papers and give him a key to my
property, which will be the new owners’ after they pay him what they owe and
get the key. This transaction should
happen by Friday afternoon and then, I can pick my own cheque from the
lawyer’s.
After I saw him, Dave brought me back home (to
Homewood Suites), I went to the hotel’s ATM machine, took out some money for
Kyle (for his multiple runs to the dump), and then Dave left for home
himself. He will pick me up again around
5:00 pm so that we can go back to the house and finish the cleaning that has to
be done downstairs once Kyle has vacated the basement apartment. I am SO looking forward to finishing the sale
of my house once and for all! We are all
really exhausted because it was such a big job getting rid of everything from
the house. This is NOT an experience I
want to have again in my lifetime!
I lay down for a while to watch my first DVD movie
of the day “Someone Like You”. I was
trying to get rid of a headache I’ve had since early this morning, so I popped
a few Advil Liqui-gels. Eventually,
after a while, I felt like doing something productive again.
So, this afternoon, I visited the OCT web site, got
an email address from there, and sent the OCT an email message with my address
change. I also visited the Amazon web
site and was able to change my address directly online there. Finally, I phoned Home Trust Visa and gave
them my address change over the phone, since there was no web link that I could
see that would allow me to do this online.
Last night, I had also mailed an address change to Service Canada, since
I will be eligible to receive OAS benefits once I turn 65 on June 8, 2017.
