My Adventures in the UK - DAY 16 - by Anne Shier

(this narrative began from when I first landed in London on September 2016)
Friday September 16, 2016:

Today, we saw the Cliffs of Moher, Galway, Knock, and finally Sligo:  we're still in Ireland today.  The Cliffs of Moher were very impressive, but it sure was windy and cold up there (I only had on my light jacket).  I climbed what seemed like one hundred steps to get to the top, surprising myself by doing so.  And, I made sure I took some good pictures of these cliffs.  On the way down though, I thought I was going to be blown over unless I took it easy on the steps.

Towards mid-day, we stopped in the city of Galway for a couple of hours.  I decided to visit an Irish pub and have lunch there and that was pretty relaxing.  I didn’t want to go shopping in the “undercover” mall or to the museum.  All I wanted to do was relax and sit in one place (not the bus) for a while.  And, it was very relaxing for me.

The third place we stopped at for only an hour was a religious place called Knock, Ireland.  It had religious affiliations because of a famous shrine there of some religious statues that some witnesses had supposedly seen angels floating around in the 19th century.  I took a picture of the shrine and a few more of the buildings and statues outside, but I’m not Catholic, in fact, I’m not religious at all.  So, it didn’t mean much to me.  We stayed long enough to take some pictures and use the washrooms and then left Knock.

The final place we were headed for was Sligo, Ireland where we were to spend the night in a hotel called the Radisson Blu.  The rooms are nice and a bit small, but very comfortable.   And, dinner in the dining room was excellent.

Tomorrow, we must be up early again (6:00 am), have the baggage out the door by 7:00 am, have breakfast at 7:00 am, and leave for Derry (or, LondonDerry depending on who you are) at 8:00 am, and ultimately, for Belfast, Northern Ireland.

The thing you have to know about Northern Ireland is that this country uses pounds Sterling, not Euro-dollars like Ireland does.  So, we have to switch back to using pounds Sterling while we’re in Northern Ireland.  However, we will only be in Belfast for one night and then, we will head for Dublin back in Ireland, where we will spend a couple of nights.
